Kory Geans

As the Chief Investment Officer, Mr. Geans oversees all investment activity from formulation of each strategy through execution and asset management. Since joining Middleburg, Mr. Geans has been responsible for overseeing $300MM of equity investments in both multifamily development and acquisition strategies.

Mr. Geans was previously at Grosvenor Group, where the company managed a development pipeline in excess of $2 Billion throughout markets in Canada and the United States. Mr. Geans managed the financial and risk analysis for the existing portfolio as well as joint ventures and new opportunities.

Prior to Grosvenor Group, Mr. Geans worked for Parmenter Realty Partners, a vertically integrated investment manager that operates a series of private equity funds investing in value-add office properties throughout the Mid-Atlantic, Southeastern and Southwestern U.S. Mr. Geans began his real estate career at Penzance, a local Washington, DC real estate operating company investing in both value-add multifamily and office properties exclusively in the Washington, DC MSA.

Prior to beginning his real estate career, Mr. Geans served in the United States Marine Corps in support of both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Mr. Geans is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University where he studied economics and international business. He graduated with honors and continues to participate in the Alumni Mentorship Program. Mr. Geans is an active participant in ULI, NMHC, NAIOP, and DCBIA.
