As Director of Site Acquisitions, Mr. Barnes is responsible for sourcing and executing new development and investment opportunities for Middleburg Communities. These responsibilities include negotiation, analysis, underwriting, due diligence, and market research.
Prior to joining Middleburg Communities, Mr. Barnes underwrote and structured financing for existing multi-family residential units along with large single family residential portfolios nationwide. He helped manage the financial and risk analysis for the financing of new opportunities.
Mr. Barnes earned a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate and Finance from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina (USC). During his time at USC, Mr. Barnes helped found the Real Estate Club in the Darla Moore School of Business. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute and is a licensed broker in the state of South Carolina.
