As President of Middleburg Development, Mr. Tay-Agbozo has responsibility for all development activity undertaken by the company and ensuring that projects are successfully completed on schedule and within budget. He also oversees the various regional development teams and is involved in exploring new markets into which Middleburg can expand.
Mr. Tay-Agbozo joined Middleburg from Tishman Speyer where he oversaw major development and redevelopment projects – and provided senior leadership to asset management – within the firm’s Washington, D.C. regional portfolio, as well as pursued development opportunities in Atlanta. He began his tenure with Tishman Speyer in 2014 as a member of its Leadership Development Program, initially working in New York where he was part of the development team responsible for three ground-up development projects – Jackson Park, the JACX, and The Wheeler – and served as the firm’s Investment Committee Secretary. Throughout his time at the company, Mr. Tay-Agbozo was responsible for the acquisition and development of over 3.5 million square feet of residential multifamily and commercial office space, with a value of approx. $3 billion. Before Tishman Speyer, Mr. Tay-Agbozo held positions at Jefferies Group LLC and UBS Securities LLC in the Equity Research division covering the publicly-traded REITs sector.
Mr. Tay-Agbozo is a Founding Member of the Friendship Heights Alliance, on which he previously served as a board member and Treasurer. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree in Economics from Saint Lawrence University holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, & International Business from The Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and is a CFA® Charterholder.
